Wimbledon 2023 Final – Marketa Vondrousova became 1st unseeded female champion after beating Ons Jabeur in women’s final.

Marketa Vondrousova is from Czech and only 24 years old. She is ranked 42nd in the world. She beat 2022 runner-up Ons Jabeur to win final in straight sets of 6-4 6-4.

Ons Jabeur is from Tunisia and 28 years old. She has now lost all three major finals she has played in.

This year, winners of the men’s and women’s singles finals will receive a £2.35million payout while finalists will pocket £1.175m for their efforts.

Despite undergoing wrist surgery slightly more than a year ago, Vondrousova persevered and unfortunately had to sit out last year’s Championships. However, astonishingly, within just a year’s time, the remarkable 24-year-old achieved the greatest triumph of her professional journey by claiming the title of Grand Slam champion
